Studies Have Presented
In a Japanese study, nearly 950 adults were asked whether milk products containing lactic acid, such as yogurt, cheese and cheese, were more likely to develop gum disease. Two measurements were used to assess the periodontal health of participants: periodontal pocket depth, and clinical attachment loss of breast tissues.
Researchers found that people who consumed more yogurt and lactic acid drinks each day had significantly lower rates of periodontal disease.
They also discovered that milk consumption was not beneficial for periodontal health. Researchers believe that healthier gums might be due to the probiotic effect of Lactobacillus bacteria.
Tea Drinkers
A Japanese study also found that green tea consumption may lead to healthier gums. This is due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
According to U.S. researchers, tea drinkers can make a cup black tea without milk, sugar or lemon to help with the growth of bacteria and acids in their gut. Research also shows a link between gum disease and low intakes of dietary vitamins C.
